TV Host Alessandro Greco Visits Soloperto
Staff Writer - April 6, 2005

The Primitivo di Manduria wine by Cantine Soloperto continues to conquer the stars. The latest to be 'bewitched'  by the precious nectar from Apulia is Italian TV host Alessandro Greco. An attraction that brought him to Manduria where, few days ago he was hosted by the Soloperto family.

The young artist from Taranto, who surprisingly enough turned out to be a wine buff, had tasted the Soloperto wines while traveling across Italy and had liked them very much. That's why, during a rare visit in his region of origin, Alessandro Greco decided that he wanted to personally meet the creators of such wines, that "are among the best I have ever drunk," he said .

"Without even knowing you," said the TV personality to Ernesto and Sabrina Soloperto, owners of the winery of the same name, "I promoted your wines a lot in Tuscany, where I live and where I discovered it by chance. I talked about Soloperto wines to family and friends, because I find them very good and with a great quality/price ratio. I believe that it is a product that reflects the spirit of the region perfectly," he said.

Alessandro Greco, well known in Italy as host of the music show 'Furore', spent a couple of hours at the winery, where he tatsed the best production of the Primitivo and walked away with a good amount of bottles, including 'Rubinum Red Label', one of his favorite wines ever.

He was dressed informally (sweats and sneakers) and was with his beautiful wife, Beatrice Bocci.

"There's nothing better,", said Greco, "than to sit at the dinner table with friends, drink good wine and talk at length."
