Once again the contest Marietta returns to Forlimpopoli, in the province of Forlì-Cesena. The contest is named after Artusi's housekeeper and is open to all amateur chefs.

The final show will be performed live, and the winning recipe will be added to the Ristò restaurant menu. The Ristò restaurant is located at the "Centro Commerciale Romagna Center", in Savignano sul Rubicone.

Amateur chefs, please come forward: the Festa Artusiana (Artusi Festival) awaits you.
Forlimpopoli, hometown of Pellegrino Artusi, proposes the eighth competition reserved to amateur chefs and dedicated to Marietta, the trusted Artusi housekeeper and chef. The final of the competition will take place during the Festa Artusiana, from June 19 to 27, 2004.

The winner will be awarded two prizes: a 600 Euro cash prize, and the gratification of seeing his or her recipe added to the menu of a restaurant chain.

The invitation is extended to all non professionals who like to work with ovens and pans. The excitement to introduce one's culinary creation to professional judgment, with the chance to share the stage with great international chefs. In fact, the winner of the "Marietta" contest, will receive the award during the presentation ceremony of the professional chef winner of the annual Premio Artusi 2004, kept top secret up to the crowning event.

If you love cooking, don't be shy. Let loose your culinary creativity following the example of the winners of previous events. Anna Tellarini, homemaker from Grignasco, become the 2001 "Marietta" with the "Pasta ai Ranocchi" (Pasta with Frogs") recipe. The 2002 "Marietta", Antonella Liberatori from Pomezia, is a marketing consultant by trade and amateur chef for her own pleasure, who won the title with the "Sellerini, Pajata e Mammole" recipe. In 2003 the jury awarded two prizes, in a tie between "Ditalini con Pesce Spada, Seppie, Cozze in Zuppa di Fagioli Brenti Niedda" ("Ditalini Pasta with Swordfish, Squid and Mussels in Brenti Niedda Bean Soup"), by the Sardinian IRS marshal Giovanni Fancello, and the "Piccione e Maccheroncini in Pasta" ("Small Macaroni Pasta with Pigeon Sauce ") recipe by Rosanna Mambelli, home maker from Romagna.

With shows and events dedicated to gastronomy and food culture, the Festa Artusiana goal is to ri propose on a yearly basis the value of cooking with quality ingredients, enhancing the natural flavor, paying attention to the details of the preparation and promoting the concept of "slow food", health and the art of eating well.

The highlight of the event will be the awarding of two Artusi prizes. One for a great chef and one for someone from any walk of life, who has contributed a meaningful input to the debate about the relationship between humanity and food.

Among the winners of previous festivals are great chefs such as the Italians Gualtiero Marchesi, Renato Gualandi and Fabio Picchi, Jacques Chibois from France, Juan Mari Arzak from Spain, Alice Waters from the United States, Eckart Witzigmann from Austria. Among the non chefs that were awarded the Artusi prize in the past are film director Ermanno Olmi, Cardinal Ersilio Tonini, a group of Comboniani monks from South Sudan, French clown Miloud Oukili, Pakistani economist Muhamad Yunus, and scientists Vandana Shiva from India.
