Mionetto "Il Rosé" – Italian Pop Star, Light and Pink Staff Writer - May 17, 2004
Mionetto, whose prosecco is ubiquitous, has rolled out Il Rosé, a dry low-alcohol (10.5 percent) strawberry-like Italian pop wine under a crown (soda pop) cap. The new wine supports Mionetto’s traditional expertise (knowing exactly how to make outstanding wines) with a seal that modernizes it a bit, too.
Its light fizzy pinkness may be reminiscent of yesterday's Lancers or Mateus from Portugal, however, when deeply iced, this appetite-quickening rosato del Veneto is a bracing alternative to beer or Pinot Grigio for pizza and picnics.
US retail prices range from around $10 to $14.
