Joe Rivetto, Fashion & Wine Staff Writer - July 29, 2005
The first clothes and accessories fashion collection ever dedicated to ten great Italian wines was presented in Florence on June 22, 2005 during the 'Pitti Moda Uomo' ('Pitti Fashion for Men) fashion show. The collection was presented by Joe Rivetto, one of the current most exciting Italian casual fashion designers who made waves and gained acclaim from both critics and public, by designing clothes in synergy with, and 'contaminated' by common, day-to-day visual icons.
The project, which includes a line of clothes and accessories, will carry the label 'Wineria', with the tag line 'the class is not water' that, in a typical use of the English language by non-English speaking cultures, is the literal translation from the Italian saying 'la classe non è acqua', that means something like 'high class is not a common thing".
The 'Wineria' collection will be launched in October with the first series of ten T-shirts, each dedicated to one of the great Italian wines chosen by Joe Rivetto:
- Breg Anfora Gravner
- Sassicaia Tenuta San Guido
- Chardonnay Planeta
- Barolo Rinaldi
- Sagrantino di Montefalco 25 anni Arnaldo Caprai
- Barrua Agri Puniche
- Franciacorta Millesimato Rosè Vezzoli
- Kurni Oasi degli Angeli
- Chianti Castello di Ama
- Montepulciano San Calisto Valle Reale.
The presentation to the public in each store that carries the brand will be very detailed, with the creation of special spaces showing the wine bottles, the related t-shirts and Joe Rivetto's wine glasses with the tag line 'The class is not water'.
In addition to the creation of clothes and accessories, the 'Wineria' project includes the organization of multimedia event, starting with the Wine Tour 2005/2006 in important Italian and foreign cities.
