The First Italian Guide to Reliable Online Communication

Spazio RPFrom the editors of Spazio RP, publishers specialized in editorial products and professional services for public relations professionals and press offices, arrives a new CD-rom entitled Spazio RP Internet 2005 – 2006.

This is the only 'map', or guide to the most prestigious web sites in Italian, obtained from the first web credibility research ever conducted in Italy.

Spazio RP Internet was created as a reference tool for communication professionals who use the Internet as communication media with their target customers and shareholders.

"We created Spazio RP Internet," explained editorial director, Roberto Portanova, "because the web is a powerful working tool, but it takes time to get to know it. Almost anyone is able to evaluate reliability of a newspaper or a TV network, however, it is more difficult to judge the credibility and leverage of a web site. To do this, one often wastes a whole lot of time and resources and, sometimes, looses important communication opportunities."

It took us almost 12 months of work to pinpoint the 1,800 most reliable web sites published in Italian. During this time we interviewed 1,000 journalists and press offices, monitored daily 40 newsgroups in various categories and visited over 10,000 web sites.

Each site has been evaluated according to a series of parameters, including:

  • incoming links from other preeminent web sites,
  • informative content and services,
  • update frequency,
  • graphic design,
  • links within the content and communication tools such as chat, forum, newsletters, press coverage and press releases.

At the end, each site was assigned a value and, among the top ones, our editorial team selected the sites who showed a credibility level at least 30% above average. The selected web site were then reviewed in a way that provides a worthy analysis and interpretative tool for communication professionals who can use them confidently to distribute their informative and advertising messages.

The site that achieved top absolute credibility is that of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The result of the research will be presented in detail and argued on June 20, 2005 in Rome, during a convention-debate held at the headquarters of Ateneo Impresa's educational institute.
