The Azienda Agraria "La Pescaia" is located on the ridge of the Montalcino hill, in Tuscany. The 15 hectares (about 37 acres) of farmland, planted with vineyards and olive trees, are close to the village of Montalcino, and are easily reached following the road that leads to the hamlet of Buonconvento.

The vineyards take up eight hectares (just a little under 20 acres), six of which produce grapes for the Brunello wine and two for the Rosso di Montalcino. Growing vines has always been extremely important for the owners of this estate which produces excellent quality wines since very longtime.

Recently the farm expanded and was renovated by the proud owners, the Di Donato brothers, Aniceto, Roberto, Vittorio and Enzo. The four brothers personally oversee the winemaking and bottling at their functioning winery, which is well integrated into the rest of the farm. By using oak barrels, barriques made with first choice wood and tested enological equipment, they intelligently applied new technology to the best Tuscan winemaking tradition.

The location of the farmland, its origin and composition, the proper exposure of the vineyards to the sun, the growing system and the loving care given to the vines, all result in the consistent production of excellent Brunello and Rosso di Montalcino, well known, high quality wines, with a captivating, characteristic flavor and roundness.

The personal involvement of the Di Donato brothers throughout the production process, from grape growing in total respect of Tuscan tradition to bottling the final product using tested cutting edge equipment, guarantees wines that are genuine, modern and elegant, and yet maintain the unique aroma of the noble Sangiovese grape, sometime known as Sangiovese grosso (big Sangiovese), typical of this corner of Tuscany.

Grappa di Brunello di MontalcinoGrappa
The Grappa di Brunello by discontinuous distillation, following the traditional bainmarie method and using exclusive, hand-made, balloon-shaped copper stills. The Brunello di Montalcino mash, macerated to just the right point, is processed immediately after fermentation to maintain the bouquet and organoleptic proprieties that are typical of Tuscany’s most noble wine.

The quality of the raw material, carefully processed according to tradition, gives this grappa unique characteristics typical of its zone of origin.

Extra Virgin Olive Oil
The olive oil produced by La Pescaia is the result of careful selection of top quality local varieties of olives, the moraiole, leccine and frantoiane. The color is opaline, and the acidity is very low, making it an excellent, high quality, genuine extra virgin olive oil.
