The commercial farm consists of 43 hectares (around 106 acres) of vineyards and olive groves located atop a beautiful hill overlooking the medieval city walls of Staggia Senese. At the most panoramic point of the hill there is an ancinet farmhouse dating back to the 9th century, which has been carefully restored into comfortable apartments. It is now rented as an agriturismo, and is surrounded by amenities such as tennis court and swimming pool.

The vineyards are located at 250 meters (around 820 feet) of elevation, on a mix of travertine, limestone, sandy turf and clayey soil. The types of vines are typical of the local tradition, and include Sangiovese, Trebbiano Toscano, Malvasia, Ciliegiolo and other minor typical Tuscan varieties, in addition to a lesser quantity of international varieties, in particular Merlot and Cabernet.

Harvest is done strictly by hand and the grapes are brought immediately to the cellar, which is located in the middle of the property. Here the different varieties are crushed using technologically advanced equipment to produce superior quality wines in limited quantities.

Specifically, the Azienda Agricola Montalpruno produces one Chianti DOCG Riserva and some superior IGT Toscana wines, among which is an excellent SuperTuscan.

The olive grove too is set up respecting the typical traditionsø of the region. In fact the orchard includes about one thousand olive trees of the Tuscan Pendolino and Moraiolo variety.
